Tall Fescue Blend - Best Bet for Lawns
Characteristics: Medium to dark green, moderate density turf with coarse to medium texture. A bunch-type grass with extensive root system, prefers full sun but is moderately tolerant of partial shade.
Recommended Uses: Well suited for tough play lawns and for moderate recreation and foot traffic in parks, recreation areas and sports fields.
Maintenance Requirements: A weekly application of about 1 to 1 1/4 inches of water is needed, along with two applications of fertilizer in the fall. (more)

Kentucky Bluegrass - Best Bet for Athletic Fields
Characteristics: Dark green, dense and low growing turf with medium leaf texture and excellent leaf uniformity. Forms dense sod via rhizomes (spreading stems that establish roots). A cool season grass best suited to sunny locations, well-drained soils and moderate to high levels of sunlight.
Recommended Uses: Makes excellent lawns (residential and commercial) and withstands moderate foot traffic.
Maintenance Requirements: Beautiful, but higher maintenance. Requires more fertilizer and watering, and additional care including thatching. (more)

Zoysia - Best Bet for Golf and Athletic Applications
Characteristics: Light to medium green dense turf, with fine to medium leaf texture. A warm season grass with good shade tolerance. Slow but aggressive growth crowds out weeds.
Recommended Uses: This wear tolerant turfgrass can be used on golf courses and withstands heavy use in lawns and parks. It is slow to repair and normally not used on frequently damaged football or soccer fields, but works for other athletic fields.
Maintenance Requirements: A deep soaking at least once a week, along with twice yearly fertilizer will keep this grass healthy. (more)
